Tablet Charging Carts & Charging Cabinets Buying Guide Hong Kong

Charging multiple iPads, tablets or laptops requires more than enough power outlets. A good charging solution should keep devices organised, secure, ventilated and easy to manage in the location where they are used.

Charging cart or charging cabinet?

A charging cart is useful when devices need to move between classrooms, wards or departments. A fixed charging cabinet is better when the devices remain in one location and floor mobility is not required.

1. Count devices and allow spare capacity

Choose capacity based on the current fleet plus reasonable growth. Check whether devices are stored with protective cases, because the slot size can become more important than the nominal device count.

2. Confirm charging method and power

Identify whether devices use USB-C, original AC adapters or a mix. For USB-C deployments, confirm the required wattage per device rather than assuming every port provides the same output.

3. Check security requirements

Schools and shared workplaces often need a lockable enclosure. In higher-accountability environments, individual charging lockers may be preferable to a shared cart.

4. Ventilation and cable management

Dense device charging generates heat. Look for appropriate ventilation and a layout that keeps cables separated and easy to replace.

5. Mobility and daily workflow

If the unit will move frequently, check castors, handles, overall width, door clearance and route constraints such as lifts and narrow corridors.
